That's Mama Veronica getting stitched up at the far left (left knee and right foot just visible); little Lyra is the bug-eyed creature-feature at the rear:
(No, she'll never forgive her dad for this commentary, either. But the recriminations are unlikely to begin before the next millenium, so...what the heck.)
As with her mom, new clothes did wonders for her mood. Here she is sporting a stylish tuque-and-blanket ensemble, only slightly grubby:
After a good night's rest and a much-needed bath, she was looking downright adorable (just like dear old Dad):
And not only is she good-looking, she's a great listener, too! Yes indeedy, Lyra is a quiet one, much to the relief of her sleep-deprived parents. (25 hours of labor...yowch.) No doubt that will change as her maternal genes take over, but at least it will be a few years before she can reach the phone.
Mom is doing just fine, too, by the way. It's not every day you lose 20 pounds in the space of a few hours; she celebrated with a yummy gourmet hospital meal:
What a woman, what a baby, what a week! Is Greg one lucky dude or what?
