Bedbug, Ladybug...or Stinkbug?

Yes, it's taken far too long, but Greg has finally scanned in some new pictures of the World's Cutest Baby. The original baby and pre-baby pics are still available, but obviously they're a little dated now. Amazingly enough, newer baby pics are also available! Stoooo-pendous!

Vital Stats

As of 2 January 1996, little Lyra is officially not so little: in just over two months she's more than doubled her weight to 13 pounds (5.9 kg), and she's now 23.5 inches (60 cm) in length. Clearly several pounds reside in her cheeks:

[cheeks and then some]

help, i'm a bug!

Here's Lyra in ladybug emulation mode:

...which, of course, would make this her dung-beetle pose:

[the infamous Lyra face-plant]

Yes, she really does do that all by herself. Weird kid...but then, that was to be expected. Face plants aren't her only trick, though; she continues to strive for a balanced diet of sleeping positions:

Sadly, the problem is spreading - and, even sadder, so is the snoring:

[like mother, like daughter...like birdie?]

Well, the bird doesn't snore, at least. (So far.)

``...brain the size of a planet...''

But baby does not live by sleep alone; here she is reading some classic Asimov to dear old Dad. If only she weren't so darned short:

Definitely gotta hate those pits. Fortunately it was winter at the time... But seriously, this is a baby with scholarship in her blood. Just look at that adoring face, completely ignoring Mom:

Dad loves it. Just a couple more years and she'll be wearing one of those funny robes herself, you betcha.

Right, then. Tune in in another month or two for still more baby pictures and obnoxious commentary!
